Sixtrum's goal is to renew the genre developed in the second half of the 20th century by renowned ensembles such as Les Percussions de Strasbourg. Each of the six founding members brings to the group years of experience in a wide variety of fields of percussion. D'Arcy Philip Gray, Julien Grégoire, Philip Hornsey, Kristie Ibrahim, Robert Leroux and Fabrice Marandola share a vision to bring new life to this artistic form currently undergoing a renewal. Ensemble in residence at the Université de Montréal, Sixtrum benefits from a dynamic environment: professors researching, creating new music technologies and developing new forms of musical expression.
