An eclectic season!
Quasar’s new season raises high expectations with its energy and eclecticism : the ensemble’s four members keep on exploring the multiple aspects of musical creation with their usual passion, curiosity and perfectionism. Their new repertoire will include acoustic pieces, some live electronics, and the collaboration of featured guests.
Notable events include the premiere of Gilles Tremblay’s first piece for saxophones as well as Luc Marcel’s L’Océantume, on a text by Réjean Ducharme. Another highlight will be the performance of of Luciano Berio’s Canticum Novissimi Testamenti, for 16 musicians.
Guest artists throughout the season include the Artificiel and Viva Voce ensembles, as well as pianist Brigitte Poulin and soprano Jacinthe Thibault.
Quasar’s new CD will be released in Spring 2009 on the qb label, and will feature Canadian works, electroacoustic creations and pieces that have been performed on foreign tours. |
