An electronic season!
Firmly oriented towards electronic music, Quasar's 12th season will open on September 27 with the Électro Energico concert. Following the success of its Électrochocs event, which won an OPUS award, Quasar carries on its exploration of the many aspects of electronic music through a series of five concerts in Montreal.
Real-time digital processing, tape music, algorhythms and ghetto blaster will figure prominently in this daring new season.
Composers, creations... A dozen Quebec composers will be featured in this series, which will include nine premieres : works from Simon Bertrand, Matthew Burtner, Alexandre Burton, André Hamel, Monique Jean, Jean-François Laporte, Roderik de Man, Farangis Nurulla-Khoja and Zack Settel. These events will also present first Canadian performances of compositions by Äke Parmerud, Jacob ter Veldhuis, Dror Feller and Pierre Alain Jaffrennou. From solo instrument to a group of nine tenor saxophones, from the agile soprano to the imposing bass saxophone, Quasar's new season will undoubtedly take our ears to places they've never visited before.
Partnership Quasar produces these events in collaboration with the following local organizations : Innovations en concert, Réseaux des arts médiatiques, the Montréal / Nouvelles Musiques Festival and the Société québécoise de recherche en musique. |
