The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec is a government corporation dedicated to the development and diffusion of the arts. It grants assistance to professional artists and non-profit cultural organizations. The principal mandate of the Conseil is to support creation, experimentation and production in all the regions of Québec The Canada Council for the Arts is a national agency created in 1957. The role of the Council is "to foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in, the arts." The Council offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations. It also promotes public awareness of the arts through its communications, research and arts promotion activities. The Conseil des arts de Montréal is the very first arts council founded in Canada (1956). It supports and recognizes excellence in the creation, production, and presentation of professional artistic endeavours by way of financial support, advice, and consultation and development initiatives. This is an international biennial dedicated to new music and organized by the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec. Radio-Canada, 100,7 FM (Montréal) Le CQM regroupe les organismes et individus professionnels oeuvrant dans le domaine de la musique dite de concert. The Canadian New Music Network (CNMN) is a network of artists, ensembles, orchestras, production companies, record labels, music educators, music media, musicologists, music lovers and fans who believe in the importance and value of creative music making in Canadian society.
